I work in series that combine research with process-driven painting to explore art making as both a healing modality and as spiritual practice.  Through painting and works on paper, I investigate imagery derived from different aspects of mysticism, mystery and magic; such as universal forms, sacred geometry, patterns in nature, chakra energy centers and the cosmos.

The foundation of each image contains a measured, underlying structure that is seeking to connect and define the space.  While the images may seem solid at first glance, they are not intended to remain static. My color is built slowly through many layers of washes and glazes including metallics, iridescents and transference colors; which literally reflect light and shift with viewing. Revealing and concealing, the work suggests a place between what was and what is; the known and unknown, the seen and the unseen.
